Hi I'm David Neeleman,Founder and Chairman of JetBlue Airways. Each week I fly on JetBlue flights and talk to customers so I can find out how we can improve our airline. This is my flight log... Did you leave your heart in San Francisco? Earlier this week, I flew out to San Francisco on a secret mission, along with 86 JetBlue crewmembers, to make a surprise announcement: Starting May 3, JetBlue will serve San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and we will have the most flights between the Bay Area and our hometown of New York City of any airline. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom joined us at the big announcement – check out the picture of the press conference. (I’m the one off to the left, sitting down.) San Francisco International, known by Bay Area natives by its airport code “SFO,” is one of the last big airports that doesn’t have a low-cost, low-fare competitor, just like Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. (FYI - We started flying to O’Hare Jan. 4.) We are really happy to be the only low-fare airline that serves all three major San Francisco airports – SFO, Oakland, and San Jose. So now you can leave your heart in San Francisco, not your wallet! Where should we fly next? Let us know. -David |
